Student Development Staff Appreciation Activities - 2006
The administrative staff of the Student Development Department of CFCC strives to recognize the outstanding service and contributions of our support staff. In recognition for their outstanding performance, the senior administrators developed a plan to acknowledge each contribution on a regular basis.
Starting in January 2006, support staff who demonstrate extra effort or provide exceptional customer service are presented with “Pocket Praise” awards during the department’s monthly birthday celebration.
In March, a formal awards ceremony was held to recognize the outstanding contributions of the support staff. The department was closed during the afternoon while the awards were distributed. The VP of the department reviewed the department’s accomplishments from the previous year. Each unit director personally presented an award to each of his/her staff members for the role each played in accomplishing our departmental goals. Following the ceremony, a root beer float and ice cream social was held with the theme, “Student Development Floats Above the Rest” for all to enjoy. The desserts were provided and served by the unit directors.
In April, motivational cards such as “Smile, You Make the Difference” were delivered to each staff member and displayed at their workstations. New cards are periodically distributed to maintain staff morale.
During the month of May, the department held an after-hour cookout as a relaxing reward for the hard work and tireless dedication in serving our student body.
To further acknowledge the staff’s efforts and contributions, especially during the busy registration period, motivational candy cards stating, “Thanks for the Mounds of Work You Do” were delivered to each member. The cards had a Mounds candy bar attached.
The support staff makes a huge contribution to the success of Student Development. We are proud and happy to recognize their accomplishments and service to students. What makes this program even more special is that the support staff is so appreciative of our recognition. Our Student Development slogan for October is “You’re simply the Best, Better than all the Rest”!
