Institute for Today's Leaders
Developing today’s leaders for tomorrow’s challenges

The Institute for Today’s Leaders is an institute for selected Southeastern Community College faculty and staff who are interested in improving their knowledge of the community college system and of the operations and functions of the college. The program consists of a kick-off luncheon, orientation, five seminars, and a graduation luncheon. Participants will also be asked to complete a ten-hour internship, working with an administrator in a leadership position.

The Institute offers a unique opportunity for faculty and staff to focus on the practical/experiential role of management and to work with senior-level administrators as mentors.

Objectives
At the conclusion of the Institute, participants will have developed and enhanced the following:

Eligibility
Eligible applicants are those who are full-time employees, who have been employed at SCC for a minimum of three years, and who hold positions up through and including the director’s level.

A screening committee composed of the Vice President of Student Development Services, Vice President of Curriculum and Instruction, Institute Director and Assistant Director select the participants.

Institute Components

Submission Process
Individual interested in the program are required to submit an application resume, and a one-page letter stating why they should be selected for the program, what their future goals entail, and what they hope to gain from the program.
