Task Force
On February 9, 2011, the NCCCS Student Development Services Office convened a Registrar Training Task Force to discuss the need for professional development throughout the system and to determine priority topics and instructional delivery methods. The group identified the need for training in the following areas and will work toward a 2012 launch of development activities addressing them.
Critical Topics

Reports and Reporting—all aspects of reports and reporting, including preventing and correcting errors; with special attention to IPEDS, NCHED, National Student Clearinghouse, CRFPA, FTE, ICR, and space utilization
Data Retrieval and Management—accuracy, control, retrieval, use of databases (Datatel, National Student Clearinghouse, IPEDS, NCCCS Data Warehouse)
Training—Business Objects, technology updates -
FERPA—issemination of information, privacy and security of records, interpreting regulations
Residency—immigration, visas, and laws -
Audits—compliance, guidelines, programs of study and curriculum standards
Policies—NC Administrative Code, NC General Statutes, and SACS as related to registrar responsibilities -
Processes—registration (transfer credit, co-requisites/pre-requisites, override), graduation, DREG
Basic registrar responsibilities—workflow, processes , timeline
Communication—working with faculty, relationship building
